Just a few weeks ago, my dad brought us to this place at Joo Chiat for their Black Pepper Crab. I don't have any photos of that day but I must tell you that it is simply amazing!!!!! It is sweet and paired with the fragrant of Pepper, MIAMM!!! And you have to go there very early to eat! They start at about 5pm and when I arrive that day at about 7.40pm, the whole coffeeshop is filled with people! All other shops are closed except for the crab store. We all could see why. Queue was fortunately not that long for my family that day and when it was our turn, the lady actually said
"NO MORE! If you want, da bao! If not, no more place!"
Just in time, a table vacated and we managed to get a seat after promising we will finish by 845. The next chinese family got their seat as well but we later heard the shop-lady say "I told you already, have to finish by 845. Don't say that I didn't tell you." It was 8.15pm and they still had a big plate! Lol! Dad said if they have trouble finishing their crab we could always help. But honestly, the crab is really really really goood plus service is fast. Other than leaving us with suspicions that they already precooked the crabs, thus the speed, I have no complains. Try.

But today, we had our own crab chef at home to cook up a feast for us! My Aunt and her family came, along with crabs bought along Yio Chu Kang Rd, the one just opposite Crab Party with the very nice salted-egg crabs. I vow to try that one day before I leave this country to work or something. My grandaunt lives there and she came along too, being the reason that our crabs are fat and sweet.
My Aunt did the crabs in 2 styles, chili and tomato. The chilli ones are not like the usual ones that you get from places like Jumbo. Its sauce has the consistency of curry and no signs of the eggs. I do not know what exactly she has inside though but it was delicious. The tomato ones had the eggs and tasted really sweet. Credits to the tomato sauce.

And my very adorable Dad...
I ate more crabs than I ever did, surprising myself because I was usually very very lazy to bite through the hard shells and peel. But now, if the crab is truly amazing, I will not hesitate to go through the trouble!! Too bad my dearest boyfriend is not very excited when it comes to crabs and he hates to use his hands when it comes to food. So, no crabs during couple outings!
*pouts*
After such a sumptuous meal, its back to the books for me. I know why as a student studying hotel operations we have to study finance as well. I know why. But when it comes to the time when I need to start doing assignments, I can't help but ask the question again and again and again. Why are we studying hospitality finance for? I would love to have my Prof eat a little bit of the Chili and Black Pepper Crab, just so that there's a chance he will get a tummy upset and not turn up for class. Just kidding =/
